Construction Estimator – Moyock, NC
Location: Moyock, North Carolina (In-Office, Full-Time)
Compensation: $60,000 – $90,000 (depending on experience)
Reports to: Executive Leadership
About the Contractor
A well-established general contractor active throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic is seeking a Construction Estimator to join their team. The company specializes in:
- Grocery stores & data centers
- Healthcare facilities – ERs, urgent care centers
- EV infrastructure projects (expanding pipeline)
Typical projects fall in the $10M–$20M range, with strong growth and a pipeline that is shifting toward more local hires and long-term regional stability.
Role Overview
The Estimator will be a key member of the pre-construction team, overseeing all estimating activities from subcontractor solicitation through buyout. This is a full-time, in-office role based in Moyock, NC, working closely with leadership, Project Managers, and Superintendents to deliver accurate and competitive bids.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of pre-construction estimating.
- Review drawings, specifications, and site conditions to develop accurate estimates.
- Prepare project budgets, take-offs, and cost projections.
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor/vendor bids to secure the best pricing.
- Perform risk assessments and develop contingency plans.
- Maintain cost databases, price keys, and implement the latest estimating technology.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Owners, and internal teams to align scope and budgets.
- Ensure timely submission of all bid documents and proposals.
- Provide regular reporting to management on project status and estimating pipeline.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- 2 years of construction estimating experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, scheduling, materials, labor, and equipment costs.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency with estimating software (Sage, Paperless) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Moyock, NC (full-time in-office role).
