We are looking for a Cheesemonger responsible for guiding guests through Chèvre's premium cheese and specialty market selection - advising on flavor, texture, origin, and pairings, and ensuring every product is stored, cut, and presented to the highest standard.

- Greet and assist customers at the cheese counter and throughout the market
- Provide expert guidance on cheese varieties, flavor profiles, textures, and origins
- Offer pairing recommendations (wine, charcuterie, honey, nuts, crackers, fruit) tailored to customer preferences
- Cut, wrap, weigh, and package cheese to order, following proper handling techniques
- Receive, inspect, and rotate cheese deliveries; maintain correct storage temperature and humidity
- Build and maintain an attractive, well-stocked cheese case and display
- Prepare cheese and charcuterie boards to order
- Operate POS register accurately, handling cash and card transactions
- Stay current on new arrivals, seasonal offerings, and cheese industry trends
- Support offsite events and catering orders as needed
- Follow food handling and safety procedures; maintain clean, sanitary workstations
- Experience in a market, deli/cheese department, or specialty food/retail setting required
- Working knowledge of cheese types, production methods, and classic pairings (wine, charcuterie, accompaniments)
- Food Handler certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented, with genuine enthusiasm for high-end food products
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
