Role Description

ThinAir Entry Level Tower Technicians (Tech 1) work throughout the Rocky Mountain Region. Where you will experience climbing tower structures ranging between 30' to 600' and will also delight in driving a company provided 4-wheel drive truck to these remote sites. At these sites you will enjoy the beautiful scenery and assist with the implementation of wireless equipment, cameras, antennas, transmission lines, fiber, and network devices. Our clients need technical help and not just tower climbers. Which makes this a great opportunity for you to capture ThinAir paid training, associated certifications, and the field experience pertaining to the wide range of technical devices our firm deploys and maintains such as Optical Gas Imaging and Wildfire Detection Cameras, Wireless Radios of all types, CISCO/ MOXA/ FORTINET Networking Equipment, and Solar Power Units. You will quickly become a hi-value technician with plenty of opportunity for career advancement.


Duties

  • Perform climbing and rigging operations safely on towers, ensuring adherence to all ThinAir safety protocols.
  • Conduct low voltage cabling work.
  • Assist with tower construction, maintenance, and modifications.
  • Diagnostics and troubleshooting of camera systems and local network devices.
  • Complete camera, wireless radio, and networking device installations primarily throughout Rocky Mountain Region. Requires some overnight travel.
  • Build out telecommunication facilities and supporting tower structures. YOU MUST BE COMFORTABLE WORKING AT HEIGHTS AND WITH CONSTRUCTION-TYPE TASKS.
  • Technicians will be required to assist the crew with the installation, maintenance, replacement, and troubleshooting of differing types of electronics while working from the tower structures and/or from manlifts.
  • Capable of following direction from Foreman and/or Client representative.
  • Available to work long hours that may include weekends as some project timelines are unpredictable.
  • Perform manual labor on a regular basis including the ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Must have a positive attitude about working outside in all weather conditions.
  • Technicians follow and comply with the company Health, Safety and Environment Program, including the use of company provided PPE and the mandatory 100% Tie off rule while working at heights.
  • Enthusiastic about learning the differing network devices and technologies behind these systems.
