What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Patient Account Rep - Clinics position at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center?
PRIMARY PURPOSE/FUNCTION:
This position will provide leadership to the clerical staff in the clinic so that the charge process is effective and efficient.
Individual will be responsible for the scheduling, registering, pre-registering, obtaining authorizations/pre-certs, and coordinating charge entry processing for the physician practice. This position will be responsible for answering inquiries from patients and insurance companies in a professional manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Educational and/or Professional Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous Experience:
- Minimum of three year experience in patient accounting environment.
- At least two years prior experience with professional fee billing for a physician’s office or hospital setting.
- Ability to operate a computer and various computer software programs.
Other Special Training/Skills:
- Possess excellent communication skills, oral and written. Possess a preference for dealing with people who are ill and need help.
- Possess the tack to deal effectively with patients, doctors, other employees and insurance companies.
- Possess a preference for financial activities to understand and work with management and financial concepts in a medical office setting.
- Possess the sense of discipline to work in accordance with accepted business standards.
Salary : $41,574 - $62,843
