Irrigation Technician

The Role
As an Irrigation Technician you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems across residential properties. You will handle spring startups, seasonal winterizations, and in-season service calls, diagnosing issues across controllers, valves, wiring, backflow devices, and heads. This role also supports the mow, garden maintenance, and hardscape departments when needed. Year-round work is available through the winter for snow mitigation.
What You'll Do
- Install, repair, and maintain residential irrigation systems
- Perform spring startups/activations and fall winterizations (blowouts)
- Troubleshoot and diagnose controllers, valves, wiring, backflow devices, and zones
- Locate and repair leaks, broken lines, and faulty heads
- Adjust, replace, and optimize spray and drip components for coverage and efficiency
- Trench and install new lines and zones as needed
- Keep worksites, trucks, trailers, and equipment clean, organized, and safe
- Assist the mow, garden maintenance, and hardscape departments when needed
- Winter (year-round option): snow plow and shoveling, Christmas light installation
What We're Looking For
Required
- Hands-on irrigation experience: installation, repair, and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of controllers, valves, wiring, backflow, and drip/spray systems
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction
- Comfortable working outdoors
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred
- Backflow prevention certification
- Trenching / machinery operation experience
- Mowing, garden maintenance, or hardscape experience (you'll cross into these departments)
- Clean driving record
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and dig for extended periods
- Work outdoors in heat, cold, sun, wind, and at elevation
- Safely operate hand tools, power equipment, and machinery
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $25–$31 per hour, based on experience
- Year-round opportunity: Option to continue through winter with snow mitigation work, if preferred
