What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Analyst position at theshyftgroup?
As the Payroll Analyst based at our Novi, MI office, you’ll enjoy maintaining and supporting payroll processes for the company and partnering cross-functionally to perform payroll audits and prevent errors before they are processed.
In addition, you'll play a key role in resolving payroll challenges and facilitating the effective functioning of our payroll operations, demonstrating our steadfast commitment to exceptional employee compensation management.
You will also:
- Maintain payroll-related data, such as W-4 changes, garnishments, and child support
- Process payroll and maintain payroll information
- Prepare and maintain payroll records and reports
- Review timesheets and troubleshoot payroll issues
- Partner cross-functionally to answer questions and resolve issues
- Generate and distribute general ledger reports
- Prepare manual checks when necessary
- Create ad-hoc payroll reports
- Manage the payroll inbox and process incoming payroll mail
- Assist with the development of payroll practices, policies, and procedures
- Support payroll related projects and assist with other tasks as assigned
