What You’ll Do
As a Business Development Manager, you will:
- Drive business growth and help meet (and exceed!) sales targets.
- Build sales forecasts, analyze territory potential, and work with leadership to shape goals and quotas.
- Partner closely with cross-functional teammates to uncover opportunities within key EPC and Turnaround accounts across refining, chemical, and petrochemical markets.
- Develop strong, long-lasting relationships with customers to understand their needs for shutdowns, turnarounds, and new construction.
- Manage assigned customer accounts and ensure they receive top-tier support.
- Deliver product presentations and training that showcase Thermon’s value.
- Create and execute territory strategies designed to win.
- Strengthen relationships across customers, representatives, and distributors.
- Develop deep understanding of customer applications and processes to offer the best solutions.
- Maintain accurate and insightful opportunity tracking in our CRM system.
- Build connections within customer organizations to stay ahead of capital projects and MRO requirements.
- Target and engage key decision-makers at multiple organizational levels, including:
- Engineers, managers, operations leaders
- EPCM organizations
- Gas plants, refineries, petrochemical sites
- OEMs and industrial distributors
- Support estimating, proposal development, and competitive pricing strategies.
- Negotiate sales agreements and drive successful outcomes.
- Represent Thermon at industry trade shows and events.
- Serve as a technical resource on our products and applications.
- Promote a customer-first mindset and lead cross-selling efforts.
- Manage an assigned expense budget.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned — we’re a team that supports each other.

Qualifications
To excel in this role, you’ll ideally have:
- A B.S. degree (Electrical Engineering preferred). Relevant experience as an Electrician or in power distribution rental/sales is also valuable.
- At least 5 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management roles with direct sales responsibilities.
- Experience working with refining and petrochemical plants or project environments (construction experience is a plus).
- Ability to clearly articulate complex electrical distribution scenarios to engineering teams.
- Strong comfort in client‑facing roles and presenting technical solutions.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% across the U.S.
