JOB SUMMARY:
Day Structure Cabling Technician Supervisor responsibilities include overseeing a team of structure cabling technicians. Supervisors will be responsible for delegating daily production work to team members while ensuring work is done to TBB standards. Supervisors will demonstrate and promote safe operation of all TBB tools and equipment. Supervisors are responsible for the performance of the assigned team to produce a quality product and foster continuous improvement environment.
The Structure Cabling Technician Supervisor will possess the qualifications of Structure Cabling Tech 1, Structure Cabling Tech 2, Structure Cabling Tech 3 with the following additions: Performance Appraisals Corrective Action A supervisor shall be able to show leadership capabilities throughout the production line, be fluent in QC procedures, and have strong communication skills.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Structure Cabling Tech 1
- Structure Cabling Tech 2
- Structure Cabling Tech 3
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide input to management regarding team selection and discipline.
- Oversee training of Structure Cabling Tech 1, Structure Cabling Tech 2, Structure Cabling Tech 3 employees
- Help Structure Cabling Tech 1 employees reach Structure Cabling Tech 2 and / or Structure Cabling Tech 3 Status
- Handle situations as they arise with the help of their manager when required
- Troubleshooting and solving any / all design system problems Promote Continuous Improvement daily.
- Responsible for hiring, disciplining, and evaluating the performance of team members and leaders
- Plans and organizes weekly crew schedules coordinating with Plant Manager
- Coordinating with receiving and purchasing to assure materials are correct and available
- Making sure materials are systematically consumed correctly through our inventory management system
- Operate all equipment deemed necessary to move shelters
- Maintaining a safe and clean work area
- Consulting with the other departments
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven work experience as a structure cabling tech 3 Strong leadership and managerial skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills
- Advanced troubleshooting skills
- Basic computer skills
- Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering and fault testing equipment
- Able to work a 10-hour shift standing/walking.
- Able to climb ladders repetitively.
- Able to bend, crouch, twist, pull.
- Able to lift/carry 70 lbs.
- Able to work in hot and wintry conditions as required
TRAVEL, HOURS OF WORK, & SUPERVISION:
This position normally requires the individual to be physically present at one or more TBB manufacturing location Monday through Friday but may occasionally be extended to Saturday as deemed necessary. This position may require occasional travel to site locations as deemed necessary. This position will report to the Plant Manager.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
- Current Apprentice and / or Journeyman license.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum four years telecom installation experience.
