How Will You Make An Impact?:
Within the Quality organization of the Bedford, MA facility, we are seeking a career-conscious multidisciplinary Scientist I for an exciting opportunity to be a part of an analytical team for a fast-growing business. This position will report to a Manager within the Quality team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on laboratory experience and a strong interest in analytical testing, chromatography, method execution, and quality support activities. This role will contribute to testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts under the guidance of senior scientists and cross-functional partners.

What Will You Do?
  • Perform HPLC and other analytical testing to support engineering requests, manufacturing scale-up, raw material characterization, second sourcing, validation, and QC projects.
  • Support method crossover validation, real-time stability studies, method transfer, continuous improvement, and product/process sustainment activities under guidance.
  • Assist with coordination of testing, validation, and method transfer activities in collaboration with QC, Manufacturing, Engineering, R&D, and NPI teams.
  • Participate in raw material characterization and second sourcing projects, including protein characterization and comparability testing as assigned.
  • Support HPLC/chromatography method execution, basic troubleshooting, and documentation of observations or issues.
  • Review and follow analytical procedures, SOPs, test methods, and quality documents; provide input on improvements related to compliance, method performance, and data integrity.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and assist in preparing technical reports, summaries, and presentations.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, including basic statistical analysis where appropriate, to support investigations, validations, and site quality initiatives.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation, including routine use, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting as needed.
  • Support quality-related issues, investigations, and corrective actions in collaboration with senior scientists and cross-functional teams.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating with team members to meet project timelines and changing priorities.

How Will You Get Here?:
Education/Experience:

  • BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, or related discipline.
  • 0-2 years of experience in analytical chemistry, molecular biology assays, HPLC, chromatography, or related laboratory testing.
  • Hands-on experience with HPLC, analytical instrumentation, protein characterization, ELISA, spectroscopy, or related techniques is preferred.
  • Experience in a regulated laboratory, quality control, manufacturing support, or cGMP/ISO environment is a plus.
  • Experience with protein purification, protein characterization, or ion-exchange chromatography is a plus.
  • Familiarity with experimental execution, data analysis, and technical documentation.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Foundational knowledge of analytical chemistry, chromatography, laboratory testing, and analytical instrument operation.
  • Ability to follow established methods, protocols, SOPs, and quality procedures with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC, spectroscopy, ELISA, protein characterization, or related instrumental methods.
  • Basic understanding of cGMP and ISO 13485 requirements, including documentation practices, deviations, CAPA, risk assessments, and change control.
  • Familiarity with statistical data analysis tools such as Minitab, JMP, Excel, or equivalent software is preferred.
  • Ability to review data, identify trends or anomalies, and escalate technical issues appropriately.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate across teams and summarize technical information clearly.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment while maintaining a strong focus on quality.
  • Basic understanding of continuous improvement practices such as Kaizen, Gemba, 3P, 5S, Standard Work, or similar lean tools is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $54,000.00-$79,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
