A Physical Therapy Technician (Tech) assists licensed physical therapists in implementing treatment plans and preparing patients for therapy sessions. They help set up equipment, support patient exercises, and ensure a safe and efficient therapy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional, courteous support to patients throughout their visit.
- Prepare patients, treatment areas, and equipment for physical therapy sessions.
- Assist licensed physical therapists with implementing established treatment plans.
- Guide patients through assigned exercises under the direction and supervision of a licensed therapist.
- Monitor patients during activities and promptly report concerns or changes to the therapist.
- Maintain patient flow and ensure therapy sessions operate efficiently and on schedule.
- Clean, disinfect, organize, and maintain treatment equipment and clinical areas.
- Perform administrative or clinic support duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interest in healthcare, physical therapy, fitness, or patient care.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under the supervision of licensed clinical staff.
- Professional, dependable, and punctual.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Comfortable assisting patients with exercises, movement, and basic equipment.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow safety and infection-control procedures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, move, or assist with equipment and patients as required.
- CPR or Basic Life Support certification preferred but not required.
