In this role, you will support licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering high-quality therapy services to children with diverse needs. Duties
- Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in implementing individualized treatment plans based on IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals.
- Support therapy sessions with children across various settings such as schools, homes, or clinics, ensuring activities are engaging and developmentally appropriate.
- Monitor and document children’s progress during therapy sessions, providing detailed reports to supervising clinicians.
- Help prepare therapy materials and adapt activities to meet each child's unique needs in pediatrics and early intervention programs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including teachers, parents, and other therapists to ensure cohesive care delivery.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment that encourages children’s participation and growth.
- Follow all safety protocols related to acute care settings when applicable.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in pediatric or school environments.
- Knowledge of speech therapy techniques and physiology related to speech production.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and basic physiology concepts relevant to speech-language pathology.
- Prior experience supporting students with diverse needs in early intervention or school settings is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, educators, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions.
