Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant to join our dynamic team at our Rock Hill location! In this vital role, you will support licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering high-quality therapy services at our state of the art outpatient clinic! Your enthusiasm and dedication will help children with speech and language challenges develop essential communication skills, supporting their overall growth and success.
Responsibilities
- Assist speech-language pathologists in implementing therapy plans tailored to each child's needs, focusing on speech disorders and language development.
- Support children with disabilities by engaging them in therapeutic activities designed to improve articulation, fluency, voice, and language comprehension.
- Prepare therapy materials and set up equipment for sessions in diverse environments such as schools or homes.
- Document client progress accurately and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive care.
- Support telehealth therapy sessions by setting up technology and facilitating remote interactions when needed.
- Collaborate with educators, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to support early intervention initiatives and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Maintain a thorough understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and child development principles relevant to speech-language pathology.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children or students with disabilities in educational or clinical settings.
- Knowledge of speech-language pathology techniques, including speech disorders support and language disorders support strategies.
- Familiarity with early intervention practices and school-based therapy programs.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to communication disorders.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in speech-language pathology environments.
- Experience with telehealth therapy platforms is a plus.
- Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse populations effectively.
- Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate approach toward children’s needs.
