The Opportunity
We are seeking a Medical Assistant for a 13-week Day Shift contract in Bad Axe, MI. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and confident in providing both front and back-office support in a clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a positive public image by treating all patients with courtesy and respect
- Support providers with assessments and efficient clinic flow
- Room patients, take vital signs, and obtain/update medical histories
- Assist with procedures, injections, and specimen collection
- Perform clerical duties including scheduling, referrals, forms, and answering phones
- Assist physicians during exams and procedures as needed
- Stock exam rooms, maintain instruments, and autoclave equipment
- Provide patient and family education and teaching
- Assist in orientation of new personnel with emphasis on clinical tasks
- Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings
- Assume charge responsibilities when supervisory staff are absent
- Perform additional duties or assigned projects as needed
Qualifications
- 2 years of OB experience – Required
- Comfortable with phone calls, greetings, processing, mailing, and cleaning – Required
- High School Diploma – Required
- MA Certification – Required
- BLS not required
- Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and maintain a patient-centered approach
- Prior clinical or outpatient experience strongly preferred
- Available for a 13-week Day Shift contract
