Job Summary
We are looking for an energetic and skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our multidisciplinary outpatient team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide high-quality therapeutic interventions to a diverse pediatric and adult caseload. You will play a vital role in our high-volume practice by executing treatment plans, documenting progress, and helping our patients reach their communication goals. This position is ideal for a clinician who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values the flexibility of a contractor-based schedule.
Duties
- Therapy Implementation: Execute individualized treatment plans and protocols as designed by the supervising SLP to address articulation, language, fluency, and social communication disorders.
- Patient Screenings: Conduct speech, language, and hearing screenings (without interpretation) using protocols developed by the supervising SLP.
- Data Collection & Documentation: Maintain precise, real-time documentation of patient performance and progress towards established goals for every session.
- Material Preparation: Create and organize engaging, age-appropriate therapeutic materials and activities to enhance patient participation.
- AAC Support: Assist patients in the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and low-tech communication boards.
- Clinical Collaboration: Regularly consult with the supervising SLP to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment techniques as necessary.
- Caregiver Education: Communicate session summaries to parents and caregivers, providing them with "home-carryover" strategies to support the patient's progress outside the clinic.
- Compliance: Adhere to all North Carolina Board of Examiners (NCBOESLPA) and ASHA regulations regarding the scope of practice and supervision requirements.
Pay: $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1.0 β 10.0 per week
