What You’ll Do
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in an Adult Day Center, you’ll play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities in their daily lives. Your work will help promote independence, inclusion, and a sense of community. Here’s what your day-to-day might include:
- Personal Care & ADL Support: Assist clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility, while preserving their independence and dignity.
- Companionship & Emotional Support: Provide meaningful companionship to reduce isolation, promote emotional well-being, and build trusting relationships.
- Community Outings & Integration: Support clients in participating in community activities, recreational outings, volunteering, and social engagement.
- Transportation Services: Ensure clients have safe, reliable transportation to community outing, volunteer work or social events.
- Adult Day Services: Participate in structured day programs that provide socialization, skill-building activities, and personal care in a supervised setting.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking compassionate, reliable individuals who are committed to making a difference. Here’s what you’ll need to succeed in this role:
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a caregiving or support role.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with clients.
- Language: Bilingual English/Spanish preferred to better serve our diverse community.
- Attitude: A positive, empathetic approach with a genuine desire to help others thrive.
