What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional position at HELPIN HANDS LLC?
Helpin Hands LLC is currently seeking a dependable and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, professional, and committed to helping individuals live as independently as possible while promoting dignity, choice, and community involvement.
Schedule
- 36 hours per week
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Additional hours may be available based on company needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal care and hygiene.
- Administer medications in accordance with DODD guidelines.
- Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping duties.
- Transport individuals to appointments, outings, and community activities.
- Complete daily documentation and required reports accurately and on time.
- Encourage independence and community participation.
- Follow Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and families when appropriate.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment for the individuals served.
Minimum Requirements
No exceptions:
- Current Medication Administration Certification (Med Cert 1)
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable personal vehicle
- Current automobile insurance
- Ability to pass all required background checks and meet DODD employment requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
