Job Description:
Theoris Services is assisting our client in their search for a Stress and Lifing Engineer. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a highly advanced engineering environment, helping maximize product time on wing while ensuring continued safe operation. The Stress and Lifing Engineer will be responsible for the structural analysis of critical rotating components including fan discs, compressor discs, blisks and drums, turbine discs, cover plates, mainline shafts, and stub shafts. These components experience some of the most complex loading conditions in engineering and require high-fidelity analysis against stringent safe-life requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct mechanical integrity, stress, and lifing assessments using finite element analysis and other numerical methods.
- Specify and perform mechanical experiments to validate analytical and empirical models.
- Identify root causes and resolve technical problems through detailed engineering analysis.
- Serve as a point of contact between the mechanical integrity discipline and other engineering functions and customers.
- Act as a subject matter expert within the engineering discipline, sharing knowledge across the organization.
- Promote continuous improvement of tools, processes, and methods within the team and across the broader engineering organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2 years of experience, OR
- Master’s degree in Engineering, OR
- PhD in Engineering.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for consideration.
- Experience with stress analysis, lifing methodologies, and finite element analysis in high-reliability or safety-critical components is preferred.
