Lead CNC Milling Set Up Machinist

Job Type: Full-Time

Shift: 1st Shift

Compensation: $25–$38/hour (Higher compensation available for exceptional candidates)

Our client is a well-established precision machine shop that manufactures high-quality components for the Aerospace, Defense, Medical Device, and Industrial Manufacturing industries. They are seeking an experienced Lead CNC Milling Set Up Machinist to join their growing team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
• Work with Fanuc controls to efficiently run production jobs.
• Edit and troubleshoot CNC programs using G-code.
• Set up and utilize positional indexers.
• Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments and gauges.
• Ensure parts meet quality specifications and customer requirements.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
• Collaborate with team members to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of CNC milling setup and machining experience.
• Strong experience with 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
• Experience working with Fanuc controls.
• Ability to edit and modify CNC programs.
• Strong blueprint reading skills.
• Knowledge of GD&T preferred.
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other inspection equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Aerospace, Medical Device, Defense, or precision manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
