Sourdough Bread Baker (Overnight)
The Bread Chic is seeking an experienced baker to join our overnight production team. We specialize in artisan sourdough bread, pastries, and scratch-made baked goods crafted with high-quality ingredients.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, thrives in a fast-paced production environment, and takes pride in producing exceptional baked goods.
Schedule
- Full-time
- Overnight shift
- Current start time: 12:00 AM
- Transitioning to 2:00 AM in the near future
Compensation
- Starting at $20/hour for the right candidate plus tips
- Opportunities for advancement as the company continues to grow
Responsibilities
- Bake all sourdough bread for retail, wholesale, and farmers markets
- Bake muffins, scones, pies, cookies, and other bakery products
- Bake cinnamon bread, pretzels, and specialty items
- Manage oven schedules and production timing
- Coordinate daily production with other bakers, front-of-house teams, and market staff
- Maintain quality standards and consistency across all products
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Assist with production planning and daily bakery operations
Qualifications
- Professional baking experience preferred
- Artisan bread and sourdough experience strongly preferred
- Sourdough experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right baker with strong production experience and a great attitude
- Ability to work independently and stay organized
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment
- Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- A valid Food Handler Safety Card is required as a condition of employment. Candidates who do not currently have one must obtain it prior to their start date.
