Summer Camp Counselor

• Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Summer Camp Childcare Counselor to join our team. As a Summer Camp Childcare Counselor , you will be responsible for providing support and guidance to children and adolescents in various settings. Your role will involve assisting with educational activities, promoting positive behavior, and ensuring the safety and well-being of the youth under your care.

Responsibilities:
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children and adolescents
- Assist with educational activities and provide academic support
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior
- Supervise and engage youth in recreational activities
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement programming
- Maintain accurate records of participant attendance, progress, and incidents
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding the progress of their child

Skills/Requirements:
- High School/GED diploma required -Must be 18 years or older -Experience working with children or adolescents in a professional setting
- Knowledge of special education principles and techniques
- Strong classroom management skills
- First aid and CPR certification preferred
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors and diffuse conflicts
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in babysitting or childcare is a plus
- Background in sports coaching or other recreational activities is beneficial

Note: This position starts May 27th and will end in August. This is a seasonal position that has the opportunity to become a full-time position.
