Position Location: York, PA/Hybrid
Hours: Full-Time | Monday through Friday 8AM – 5PM
Scope The Content Licensing Sales Associate is responsible for generating revenue by licensing editorial, brand, and intellectual property assets to third-party partners. This role focuses on identifying licensing opportunities, negotiating agreements, and building long-term partnerships that extend the reach and value of the company’s content while protecting brand integrity.
Essential Functions

- Drive new revenue through the sale of content licensing, and usage rights across multiple channels (digital, print, AI training, marketing, educational, international).
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and pitch development through contract execution and renewal.
- Contact potential buyers through phone calls and emails to communicate opportunities to license content. Use open-ended questions to determine buyer’s needs and marketing goals, overcoming objections and closing sales.
- Return e-mails and voicemails and provide customers with requested materials in a timely manner.
- Keep detailed notes in YGS’s database and complete all activities so that teammates can understand the status of a particular lead, quote or order.
- Identify and pursue new licensing partners, including brands, platforms, agencies, publishers, and technology companies.
- Provide production staff with complete details for mock-ups and jobs; assist in design to ensure editorial and publishing integrity, and to satisfy the buyer and meet the publisher’s standards.
- Understand each publisher’s licensing and creative use guidelines and articulate them to potential buyers, so they understand how they can leverage the publisher’s content in their marketing campaigns.
- Research new marketing or PR contacts at brands if unable to make a connection with existing contacts from the YGS database.
- Build and maintain relationships with brands and/or the advertising agencies that represent them. For large opportunities, understanding the brands marketing and budgeting cycles and what competitive licensing opportunities they are leveraging in their marketing.
- Be aware of publisher, individual, and team sales goals.
- Supporting sales efforts on a project-by-project basis
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing and/or Communication fields, preferred.
Skills & Experience:
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in sales, account management, customer service, or related field is preferred.
- Experience working in a CRM, Salesforce preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as outstanding relationship building, analytical, and organizational capabilities, are necessary.
- Flexible team player who learns quickly, can work independently, has outstanding prioritization and time management skills, has a proven ability to multitask, and works well under pressure.
- Ability to maintain a fast pace and work with a sense of urgency.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
