What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Swimming Instructor position at The Woodlands Club?
The Woodlands Club, a private, member-owned, country club, is looking for a Substitute Swimming Instructor to teach classes in the evenings!
Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between 3 PM and 6 PM.
Pay: $21-24 per hour
Certification is a must!
Overview:
The Swimming Instructor/ Substitute Instructor provides a safe and supportive learning environment to swimmers of all ages. Flexibility and dependability are a must. The Instructor must be able to communicate kindly and effectively with parents/members regarding the progress and scheduling of their children or their personal swimming needs.
Job Duties:
- Work closely with director to create lessons.
- Teach classes of 5-7 people, depending on swimming level.
- Maintain cleanliness of pool and aquatics area.
- Offer supportive, encouraging, empathetic teaching instruction.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Observe students to determine qualifications, limitations, abilities, interests, and other individual characteristics.
- Adhere to all The Woodlands policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Possess a current, and maintain, American Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Possess Water Safety Instructor’s Certification and/or have previous teaching experience following American Red Cross programs and children’s programs.
