What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard position at The Woodlands Club?
The Woodlands Club, a private, member-owned country club, is looking for Lifeguards for our outdoor and indoor pools!
Pay: $18-18.50 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Sunday, flexible, but between 9 AM and 6:45 PM.
If it is raining, or thunder and lightning, there may be no work.
Overview:
The Lifeguard is responsible for diligently watching over the pool (either indoor or outdoor) to ensure a safe recreation environment. The Lifeguard must limit distractions and act professionally. May require life-guarding for private parties.
Job Duties:
- Patrol or monitor indoor and/or outdoor pool.
- Counsel individuals (members and/or their guests) regarding unsafe practices and activities to ensure safe participation.
- Balance pool chemicals and record readings daily.
- Vacuum pools.
- Contact emergency medical personnel in case of serious injury.
- Rescue distressed persons, using rescue techniques and equipment.
- Warn recreational participants of inclement weather, unsafe areas, or illegal conduct.
- Clean deck, pump rooms, and all areas relating to the pool.
- Wipe tables in pool area and take down umbrellas.
- Provide instruction to children ages 7-11, as needed.
- Checking on children with medical needs to ensure they have taken any required medication
- Adhere to all The Woodlands Club policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Lifeguard Certification, required.
- CPR Certification, required.
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to bend, stand, lift, pull, swim, and work overhead.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Previous experience is a plus.
