Location: 4907 Garrett Rd, Durham, NC 27707 (Family Preschool’s campus)
Pay range: $16.50 - $18.50 per hour
Dates: June 25 – August 7, 2026Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM (25 hours/week)Training: Paid half-day training on Thursday, June 25
About the Role
We are hiring Summer Camp Educators to lead small groups of children ages 3–5 in a fun, hands-on STEM summer camp in Durham. Each week features engaging themes like dinosaurs, oceans, and inventions, with activities designed to spark curiosity through play, creativity, and exploration. Expect messy art projects, sensory play, outdoor play, STEM experiments, and lots of joyful learning. Camp groups are intentionally small (about 12–14 children) so educators can build strong relationships and create a supportive environment.

Responsibilities
- Lead fun and engaging activities for preschool-aged children
- Facilitate circle time, stories, and group games
- Guide hands-on STEM projects and creative play experiences
- Supervise indoor and outdoor play while ensuring safety
- Support positive behavior and social development
- Communicate with parents during drop-off and pick-up
- Assist with snack time, setup, and cleanup
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
Qualifications
Required
- Experience working with young children (preschool, camps, childcare, babysitting, etc.)
- Friendly, energetic, and dependable
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Available for the full camp schedule
Preferred
- Background in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
- Previous summer camp or classroom experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
