KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This role manages the monthly close process, account reconciliations, tax compliance, financial analysis, and reporting activities that support sound business decision-making. The Accounting Manager partners with operational leaders to provide financial insight, maintain strong internal controls, ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and systems. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, and delivering reliable financial information that enables organizational growth and performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Develop and deliver financial reports, analyses, and recommendations that support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Analyze financial and operational data, identify trends and variances, and communicate findings and recommendations to management.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and subsidiary systems to ensure data integrity and financial accuracy.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation, filing, and payment of all required tax returns, tax deposits, and related regulatory filings.
- Prepare monthly workpapers, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation for financial reporting and audit requirements.
- Partner with departmental leaders to communicate financial results, performance trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities as assigned.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance financial controls, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Lead or support special projects, business analyses, and other finance-related initiatives as requested.
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and professional integrity.
- Ensure work is completed timely and documented in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work independently as well as being able to work well in a team environment
- Detail oriented
- Ability to hit deadlines and multi-task
- Communication sill at a variety of levels
- Finance/Manufacturing industry knowledge (a plus but not required)
- High School diploma or GED
- 2-4 year accounting degree (a plus but not required)
- Accounting experience
