Ruse is the restaurant at The Wildset, a full service, 34 room, boutique hotel situated in historic downtown St. Michaels. Defined by elevated, yet inviting design, attentive service, sommelier selected beverages, and seasonal, contemporary cuisine, Ruse’s culinary program builds on the storied legacy of St. Michaels with a commitment to innovation, quality, and hospitality. Vegetable and seafood-centric dishes, along with a variety of oysters from the Eastern Shore and other American waterways, are complemented by unique low intervention wines, local beers, and craft cocktails. Featured in The New York Times, Vogue, Eater DC, Travel and Leisure, and other national and local publications.
Ruse is looking for passionate servers with a love for hospitality, food, and beverage. We are a close-knit team that embraces sustainability and the art of hospitality.
Responsibilities Include –
- Consistently provide guests with friendly and professional service
- Execute proper steps of service required of all FOH service positions
- Responsible for the complete sales and service of food and beverage
- Coordination with table pacing and section maintenance in conjunction with support personnel
- Anticipate guest needs and read tables
- Knowledge and understanding of classic cookery, wine, beer, and cocktails/spirits
- Current menu knowledge as menus evolve
- Process cash, credit, and gift card transactions
- Responsible for set-up, service, and breakdown of restaurant and private events
- Responsible for opening, closing, and running side work throughout shift, including polishing glassware and flatware
- Experience with farm to table menus, craft cocktails, beer, and biodynamic/natural/organic wines are a plus.
