Role Description The Banquet Housemen role is a full-time, on-site position located at The Westin Charlotte in Charlotte, NC. This role is responsible for setting up, breaking down, and resetting banquet rooms and event spaces according to event orders and brand standards. Day-to-day tasks include arranging tables, chairs, stages, and equipment; ensuring linens, décor, and service ware are clean and properly placed; and assisting with the movement and storage of banquet furniture and supplies. Banquet Housemen work closely with the banquet and event teams to support timely event preparation, maintain cleanliness and safety in all function areas, and respond to last-minute changes or guest needs. The role may also involve basic audio-visual setup assistance, adherence to safety and security procedures, and collaboration with other hotel departments to deliver excellent event experiences.
Qualifications
- Experience in banquet, events, or hospitality operations, including room setup and breakdown, furniture handling, and basic event logistics.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items safely; comfort with standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness, organization, and maintaining high visual standards in event spaces and storage areas.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow directions, work collaboratively with banquet staff, and interact professionally with guests.
- Basic understanding of safety, security, and workplace health practices; willingness to follow hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards.
