What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Technician for Senior Living Community position at THE WESLEY?
The Grounds Technician is responsible for maintaining flower beds in all public areas of the campus, assisting with pruning shrubs and trimming trees, maintaining and establishing new flower beds, maintaining sprinkler systems, snow and ice removal, and keeping lawn care and snow removal equipment in running order. The Wesley expects knowledge and proper use of chemicals on flowers, shrubs, and trees. Some assistance with general maintenance duties may be requested.
Qualifications:- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand instructions in English.
- Must have a current driver’s license in good standing with the state of Kansas.
- Must have a good driving record and meet all organizational and insurance company requirements to drive company vehicles.
- Must have a chemical applicator’s certificate, or be willing to obtain it within 3 months.
- Possess mechanical knowledge and the ability to repair lawn and snow removal equipment.
- Possess basic knowledge and ability to operate sprinkler systems, install new systems, and repair existing system.
- Possess a working knowledge of caring for lawns, plants, shrubs and trees.
