What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Nurse Aide FT/PT 1st, 2nd & 3rd Shifts position at THE WESLEY?
JOB SUMMARY
- The CNA works under the supervision of a licensed nurse and provides personal care assistance and service to residents as outlined in the plan of care. All services are provided in a manner that promotes privacy, dignity, safety, comfort, and considers the resident’s rights and preferences. It is essential that the CNA be creative, patient, and flexible in providing personalized services to meet each resident’s needs.
Responsibilities for Resident Care:
Assist with implementing the resident's plan of care to include, but not limited to, the following tasks and duties:
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s).
- Conduct continuous monitoring of residents to be proactive in meeting residents’ needs.
- Answer call lights promptly.
- Complete documentation of tasks performed and other documentation according to The Wesley’s policy/procedures, including vital signs, meal percentages, weights and other documentation as needed.
- Assist residents with transfers, promote ambulation and exercise.
- Make beds and change bedding as needed for resident comfort/hygiene.
- Assist with meal set-up as each individual resident requires and provide assistance with eating as needed.
- Distribute and assist with snacks, and for documentation of resident's consumption.
- Assist with resident activities to include set-up and transporting residents to and from activities.
- Support and foster good relationships with residents, families, and visitors.
- Provide input into the assessment of the resident and the care planning process by sharing ideas with the charge nurse and supervisory staff.
- Report any behavioral or physical changes in residents' condition, problems, concerns, grievances with residents and/or other parties to the charge nurse or supervisory staff.
- Work in compliance with The Wesley’s infection control policies at all times.
- Demonstrate patience and calm demeanor with residents regardless of their disruptive, combative, aggressive, or even violent behaviors.
Qualifications:
Qualifications for CNA:
- Valid Kansas certification required
- Experience in adult care and services helpful
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with a team
- Must be able to lift 30#’s unassisted
Salary : $16 - $24
