Certified Athletic Trainer

Position Summary
The Webb School seeks a certified athletic trainer for the 2026-27 school year. This is a full-time position within The Webb School Department of Athletics. This role oversees all aspects of athletic healthcare for Middle School and Upper School student-athletes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide vision, leadership, and direction for the athletic training and sports medicine program serving all Webb School student-athletes
- Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures related to athletic healthcare, injury prevention, and return-to-play protocols
- Manage the athletic training budget, facilities, equipment, and supply purchasing
- Develop and maintain emergency action plans for all athletic venues and events
- Oversee the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for all sports and grade levels
- Ensure appropriate athletic training coverage for practices, competitions, postseason play, and travel as needed
- Maintain accurate and compliant medical records in accordance with School, state, and federal guidelines
- Collaborate closely with coaching staff, the School nurse, the Director of Athletics, the Director of Health and Human Performance, and external healthcare providers
- Coordinate and oversee School-wide programs related to athletic health and safety
- Communicate clearly with parents and students regarding all required documentation and expectations, including physical examinations (e.g., student-athlete annual physicals, concussion education, drug testing if applicable)
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Director of Athletics, the Director of Health and Human Performance, the Athletics Department, and the School's mission
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is expected
- Master’s degree in athletic training, sports medicine, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years as a certified trainer at the high school or collegiate level
- Eligible for or currently licensed as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Tennessee
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification (American Heart Association or equivalent
- Additional certifications (e.g., concussion management, emergency care instruction) preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Collegial and eager to collaborate with sports coaches for the betterment of the athletes and the Webb School athletic program
