Lead Line Cook

The iconic Waverly Inn and Garden located in the West Village is seeking passionate line cooks to join our team for dinner service, must be able to work a busy grill station and work SATURDAY through WEDNESDAY.

Ideal candidates possess:

• Previous hot line experience and expediting experience
• The ability to cook meat and fish to temperature
• The ability to work in a team environment and assist your team mates
• A great attitude and the ability to learn and adapt

During service a Line Cook must be able to follow instructions from the Chef, Sous Chef and team correctly and efficiently. This position is hourly-based. They should be able to read and follow recipes and standards, maintain health department, food quality, and restaurant standards.

Compensation is $20-$25 per hour.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain operations of your assigned station for that day
• Assist in daily prep or any other assigned item by the Sous Chef and Executive Chef
• Check and complete mise en place and pars and set up station using proper recipes and fresh product
• Communicate with Sous Chef and Executive Chef regarding menu items, problems, situations or shortages
• Use standard recipes and plate presentations in order to maintain standards of quality in production and presentation
• Maintain a good working relationship with all back of house, front of house staff, management and guests
• Store all items properly at the end of shift, labeling and dating all products
• Ensure a clean, neat and organized work area
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of the company and encourage other colleagues to do the same
• Perform other task or projects as assigned by management

Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $25.00)
