Overview:

The W Group is seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Resident Companion. As a Resident Companion, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to our residents during their daily activities. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe and comfortable transportation of residents.

Responsibilities:

• Safely and gently escort residents to and from various locations within the assisted living facility, such as dining areas, activity rooms, therapy sessions, and medical appointments.
• Assist residents with mobility devices, such as walkers or wheelchairs, as needed.
• Provide a friendly and empathetic presence, offering emotional support and companionship to residents during their journeys.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with residents, their families, and staff members.
• Communicate effectively with nursing and caregiving staff to ensure the timely and efficient movement of residents.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent any accidents or injuries during transportation.
• Report any concerns or changes in a resident's condition to the appropriate staff members.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect residents' privacy at all times.
• Participate in ongoing training and education to enhance knowledge and skills related to patient care and safety.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a healthcare or senior care setting is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate and patient-oriented mindset.
• Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including pushing wheelchairs and assisting residents with mobility.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is an asset.

Working Conditions:

• The position of Resident companion requires standing, walking, and pushing residents for extended periods.
• The role may involve exposure to various healthcare settings and environments within the assisted living facility.
• Resident Companion may need to lift or assist in lifting residents when necessary.
• The job may require working during evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the facility's needs.
