Responsibilities include independently coding cases, meeting production and accuracy goals (95%), researching coding scenarios, and staying current with coding guidelines. Effective communication with leadership and participation in departmental meetings are essential. The role offers remote work, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for skill expansion across specialties.
Qualifications include a high school diploma (associate or bachelor's preferred), at least 5 years of recent hands-on coding experience in Plastic Surgery, and active AHIMA or AAPC credentials (excluding CPC-A). Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, CPT, ICD-10-CM, modifiers, and billing policies is required. Additional skills in Microsoft Office, electronic records, and experience with Google Workspace or Epic are advantageous.
