SUMMARY OF POSITION
In accordance with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward, under direction of the Vice President of Development, the Development Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the organization and execution of fundraising efforts for The Village of St. Edward. The Development Coordinator is responsible for performing, supporting, and promoting activities to ensure exceptional record keeping and stewardship of donors, grantors, and sponsors as well as ensuring that all fundraising and donor activities elevate financial support for and awareness of The Village of St. Edward’s mission. The Development Coordinator produces accurate and timely marketing & communications pieces and participates in the coordination and execution of programs and special events.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years’ experience in fundraising, relationship management, marketing/communications, non-profit and/or long-term care is highly regarded.
- Ability to problem-solve, work collaboratively on joint projects and individually as needed.
- Strong organizational skills, with strong ability to set priorities and manage multiple detail-oriented tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to develop engaging content with creativity and purpose.
- Excellent writing, presentation, persuasion and listening skills; must be able to confidently speak in front of a group
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading and layout/design skills are essential.
- High degree of problem-solving abilities.
- Superior project, time and organizational management skills.
- Flexibility with changes in task and priorities along with using sound judgment.
- Able to multitask and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Wide degree of creativity and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, self-starter, and team player with a positive and professional approach to management.
- Experienced with MS Office and working knowledge of fundraising software preferred.
- Good physical and mental health
- Possesses the ability to bend, stoop and reach at different angles.
- Walks stand and sits intermittently during the day.
- Engages with public, personnel and residents under all conditions.
- Travels to and participates in meetings, fundraisers and seminars.
- Ability to be flexible with hours of work to attend fundraising activities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT AN ALL INCLUSIVE LIST)
- Build/cultivate, maintain and steward relationships with individuals, foundations, and corporate partners to encourage contributions
- Establish and maintain open, professional communications with residents, families, donors, vendors, volunteers and staff
- Communicate with and listen to the residents, families, donors, vendors, staff and interdisciplinary team in a concise, tactful and considerate manner
- Assist in developing and implementing strategies for annual and seasonal campaigns
- Manage and complete accurate appeals including but not limited to direct mailings, email and social media campaigns as directed
- Manage print production of marketing and communications per Foundation and The Village of St. Edward guidelines
- Assist in development, writing and production of biannual Foundation newsletter and other communication avenues as directed
- Research potential funding sources, identify new funding opportunities, and provide educated information to the appropriate individuals
- Manage, write, and submit grant proposals and reports
- Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of Foundation events throughout the year, including the annual VillageFEST
- Attend community meetings and functions to professionally represent The Village of St. Edward Foundation
- Evaluate the success of fundraising initiatives, track progress toward financial goals and create donor reports
- Assist in identification of Planned Giving prospects and Planned Giving initiatives
- Maintain and update messaging through communication services such as Touchtown
- Provide accurate and timely messaging, reports, and various other items to appropriate individuals
- Perform other duties as assigned.
