OverviewThe role of Front Desk Receptionist is generally responsible for supporting the administrative activities of the facility. This candidate will maintain the organization of the office, support the Office Manager, and ensure the warm and welcoming environment for patients and families. The Front Desk Receptionist is also expected to provide compassionate and informative services to patients while managing patient communication, filing, and answering telephones.ResponsibilitiesAssist patients and referring providers both in office and on the phone and direct patient concerns or questions to the appropriate partyVerify patient eligibility and insurance prior to appointmentObtain referrals or insurance authorizations prior to patient appointmentMaintains patient accounts by recording and updating personal and financial information required for proper insurance billingMaintain organized office filing system and retrieve patient recordsGreet patients upon arrival, assist with patient check-ins, and obtain insurance information and other necessary dataProvide patients with intake and new patient formsProvide patients with support and guidance as neededProvide coverage until practice is closed for the day or last patient has left if after closing hoursManaging flow of patient appointments in conjunction with clinical staffManaging patient expectations during delaysProtects patients' rights by maintaining medical, personal, financial confidentialityEnsure compliance with all HIPAA regulationsCollect co-pays and co-insurance and past due balances at time of service whenever possible; set up payment plans as neededSchedule initial and follow-up appointments for physician, clinician and ultrasound labsComplete ad hoc projects as requestedRequirementsMinimum of High School diploma, Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred1 years of administrative support required, experience in a medical setting preferredKnowledge with multi-line phone systemsPrevious experience with Microsoft Office suite preferredKnowledge of HIPAA, Medicare and commercial insurance preferredEPIC Experience is a plusAbility to perform multiple tasks in a busy medical settingCompensation$20/hour - $27/hour.
