What are the responsibilities and job description for the On-call Certified Genetic Counselor position at The Vancouver Clinic?
Vancouver Clinic is hiring a o n-call Certified Genetic Counselor to support our Maternal Fetal Medicine group at Salmon Creek. In this role, you’ll provide compassionate, non-directive genetic counseling to high-risk obstetric patients by assessing personal and family histories, evaluating genetic risk, educating patients about prenatal screening and diagnostic options, and coordinating genetic testing and follow-up. You’ll collaborate closely with Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians and the care team to interpret results, develop care plans, and help patients make informed decisions with clarity and confidence.
Location: Salmon Creek 1 (2525 NE 139th Street – Vancouver, WA 98686)
Schedule: On-call with variable hours based on staffing needs. Hours are not guaranteed and may fluctuate from week to week. This position receives a 5% on-call differential and is not eligible for benefits.
Hiring range generally between $ 42.69 /hour to $ 53.52 /hour, and placement in the range depends on an evaluation of experience.
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling or related field required .
Board certification or board eligibility by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) required ; CGC preferred.
Experience in prenatal, reproductive, or MFM genetic counseling preferred.
Knowledge of prenatal screening and diagnostic testing, including current guidelines (ACOG/SMFM).
Familiarity with genetic testing laboratories, insurance authorization processes, and result interpretation.
Ability to work both independently and under supervision within scope of practice.
Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard office software.

Pay Range:
