Whether handling cash, performing product demos, or merchandising displays, you’ll play a vital part in creating an engaging and welcoming store atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs, providing product information and demonstrations when appropriate
• Operate POS systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges while handling cash, credit cards, and mobile payments with care
• Maintain organized merchandise displays through merchandising and stocking efforts to enhance product visibility and accessibility
• Upsell complementary products by identifying customer needs and offering tailored recommendations to boost sales
• Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies for efficient service
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries professionally via phone etiquette or in person
• Support store operations by supervising team members during shifts when needed and assisting with inventory management tasks

Skills

• Proficiency in POS systems and cash handling procedures with a strong attention to retail math accuracy
• Previous supervising experience or leadership skills to guide team members effectively
• Ability to perform product demos confidently to educate customers about features and benefits
• Bilingual skills are a plus to serve diverse customer bases more effectively
• Excellent communication skills combined with courteous phone etiquette for professional interactions
• Strong upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining customer satisfaction
• Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and inventory management within a grocery store or retail environment
• Basic math skills necessary for retail math calculations such as change making and transaction totals
• Experience in grocery store or retail sales environments preferred but not required
