Job SummaryWe are seeking an operational leader to join our franchise team as an Assistant Store Manager. In this role, you will manage day-to-day point-of-sale operations, oversee staff productivity, and step in to lead the center when the Manager is offsite. The ideal candidate has retail logistics experience, a professional presence, and exceptional multitasking skills.Core Responsibilities
- Store Leadership: Open and close the center, execute bank deposits, and reconcile daily register cash balances.
- Staff Management: Direct a team of up to five Sales Associates, managing scheduling, task delegation, and lunch breaks.
- Logistics Oversight: Oversee accurate package weighing, measuring, and custom packaging using certified guidelines.
- Retail Operations: Manage the point-of-sale (POS) system, retail inventory levels, and customer supply ordering.
- Business Services: Assist clients with specialized services, including mailbox rentals, notary public processing, document scanning, and faxing.
- Print Production: Operate high-volume commercial printing and binding machinery using modern design and desktop software.
- Customer Care: Resolve escalated shipping complaints, track missing parcels, and finalize carrier insurance claims.
- Compliance Management: Ensure the retail floor strictly adheres to corporate franchise audits, safety standards, and security protocols.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience Required: Minimum 1–2 years of supervisory or keyholder experience in retail, shipping, or customer service.
- Industry Experience: Preferred 1 year of direct experience at The UPS Store or similar packing, shipping, and print environments.
- Education Minimum: High school diploma or GED equivalent required; college coursework is preferred.
- Legal Certifications: Ability to obtain and maintain a state Notary Public commission within 30 days of hiring.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with POS systems, Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Photoshop or Acrobat software.
- Physical Standards: Ability to stand continuously for an 8-hour shift and regularly lift heavy boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Availability Requirements: Flexibility to work a variable schedule across opening, closing, and weekend shift patterns.
