Responsibilities
- Serve food and beverages to residents and guests in a courteous, timely manner, adhering to all safety and sanitation standards.
- Assist with meal setup, including bussing tables, cleaning service areas, and maintaining a tidy dining environment.
- Ensure compliance with dietary requirements by following prescribed menus and special instructions from the dietary department.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely when assisting with food preparation or clearing dishes.
- Support the dietary team by handling food safely, practicing proper food handling techniques, and maintaining sanitation standards.
- Engage with residents to provide friendly customer service, addressing their needs and preferences with professionalism.
- Follow workplace safety protocols including proper manual handling techniques and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and safe lifting practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing time effectively.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on excellent customer service.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions or meal counts as needed.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment and adhering to dietary requirements for diverse populations such as geriatric patients.
- Certification in CPR and knowledge of workplace safety standards are advantageous.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and manual handling tasks safely.
