The Untitled Space is an art gallery located in Tribeca, New York in a landmark building on Lispenard Street. Founded in 2015, the gallery features exhibits of emerging and established contemporary artists exploring conceptual framework and boundary-pushing ideology through mediums of painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, video, and performance art. The gallery is committing to exploring new ideas vis-à-vis traditional and new mediums and highlights a program of women in art.

Applicants should have a background in art history, art business, art curating, or museum and gallery studies, with a strong interest in contemporary art and artists, and be versed with all major social media platforms. Previous experience working or interning at a gallery is preferred although not required.

Experience:

- Educational focus in Art History, Art Business, Art Curating, Museum Studies, or related field of study.

- Previous gallery, museum, auction house, or similar internship experience is preferred, although not required.

- Strong interest in contemporary art and artists

- Thorough knowledge of contemporary art in general

- Possess excellent written and verbal communication

- Positive attitude and strong social skills

- Demonstrate consistent attention to detail while maintaining perspective

- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word and Excel), Wordpress, and Adobe Creative Suite including basic knowledge of programs such as Photoshop, Bridge, InDesign

- Strong knowledge of social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, among others

- Fluent in English, other languages such as French or Italian are a plus.

Daily responsibilities could include:

- Assist with gallery operations

- Assist with press releases and pr coverage for exhibitions

- Assist with marketing materials, books, and catalogs for artists

- Assist with research for upcoming exhibitions

- Assist with social media marketing and communications

- Assist with art handling and shipping

- Assist with gallery openings and events

If you are applying for part-time please note which days per week you are available (Must be a minimum of 3 days/week, Hours 12-6pm). Internship applicants must be available for a minimum of 3 - 6 months full-time or part-time. All applicants must be available for a meeting at our Tribeca, New York location and live in New York City or within commuting distance.
