Salary Range: Up to $53,190 annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Job Summary

The Undergraduate Admissions Counselor identifies, recruits, and contributes to increasing the population of admitted and enrolled students and/or is responsible for program development and implementation.

Core Responsibilities

• Recruits new freshmen and/or transfer students to UT San Antonio and assists with recruiting plans, retention programs and/or UT San Antonio Admissions events both on and off campus. Serves as a mentor to new Admissions staff.
• Serves as a mentor to new admissions counselors, coordinates some travel schedules and assignments and assists with recruiting plans, retention programs, UT San Antonio admissions events both on and off campus and occasional training.
• Travels to high schools, colleges, and other learning institutions to recruit prospective students.
• Manages an assigned geographic territory including high schools, some colleges, and other areas across the state.
• This position is responsible for counseling and outreach to students and parents on the admission requirements and procedures, and works directly with them to resolve extenuating circumstances, complaints, and appeals.
• Coordinates with high school counselors to facilitate the application process.
• Manages data, prospects, applicants, and recruitment territories through the customer relations management (CRM) system to enhance student relationships, and communication timelines and to connect students with other areas of the university.
• Implements recruitment activities such as application workshops, information sessions, and other recruitment projects.
• Assists with recruiting and outreach of other programs such as, Direct Admission, UT San Antonio Top Scholar, Honors College, and other special recruitment and retention programs.
• Cultivates working relationships with university colleges, departments, counselors, and advisors to enhance customer service and satisfaction as well as establish community contacts.
• Represents Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment in a public-speaking capacity both on and off campus and maintain records of these activities in the CRM.
• Conducts Financial Aid Information and Outreach presentations.
• Assists with the committee review reading process.
• Maintains a high level of working knowledge of university information, organization, opportunities, and policies.
• Reports statistical data on programs, projects, Salesforce cases, and travel activities.
• Participates in committees on campus.
• Represents Senior Counselor, Assistant Director, or Associate Director in campus activities when needed.
• Participates in strategic planning, assessment and recruitment planning for the department.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• One (1) year of related work experience.
• This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.

Working Conditions

• Office environment. Standard office equipment, Zoom, WebEx, and other video communication tools. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events. Occasional after-hours and weekend work or overtime may be required.
  
  

Physical Demands

• Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
  
  

This position will work both on campus and remotely in Texas. Travel and parking expenses are the employee’s responsibility.
