Salary Range: Up to $67,500/Annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

The Grant and Contract Administrator II delivers comphrensive pre-award and post-award support, including proposal preparation, review, approval, and award administration. This role applies estalished grant and contract principles to manage a moderate portfolio of transactions efficiently and accurately. The position ensures compliance with institutional and sponsor requirements by supporting the financial and administrative management of proposals, awards, and related activities.
Core Responsibilities
This position is contingent upon a successful background check. Verification of a valid driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) may be completed as applicable. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.

Job Summary

The position ensures compliance with institutional and sponsor requirements by supporting the financial and administrative management of proposals, awards, and related activities.
Core Responsibilities
- Provides “cradle to grave” institutional support of grants and contracts.
- Reviews, approves, and submits routine grant or contract proposals, budgets, and award management transactions, obtains and verifies necessary compliance approvals.
- Negotiates terms and conditions of routine grant, contract, and subcontract proposals and awards from various sponsors.
- Reviews, approves or rejects award management requests and financial transactions within established thresholds.
- Engages and advises principal investigators, unit research administrators, college representatives, and management on policies, best practices, and proposals/awards terms and conditions.
- Provides policy and procedure interpretation to principal investigators, college representatives, and management.
- Maintains professional relationship and serves as an institutional liaison with sponsor representatives.
- Consults senior professionals with unusual or complex issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- One (1) year of related work experience.
- Experience may be substituted for education on a one year for one year basis.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
- Knowledge of federal funding regulations, including 2 CFR 200 and FAR.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex policy and principles independently.
