Job Summary
The Locksmith will provide journeyman-level skills in the repair, resetting, and installation of locking devices and the manufacture of keys. The Locksmith is responsible for installing, repairing, re-keying, and master keying most door locks on campus.
The annual salary for this position ranges from $50,357 to $65,000. The final offer will be based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or ( GED ).
- Proficient experience with computer, and the ability to use various Windows-based programs.
- Hold and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license with no serious violations.
- Three (3) years of experience as a journeyman locksmith with comprehensive experience in the repair, re-key, and installation of locks, and keys including knowledge of SFIC (Small Format Interchangeable Core.
- Proficiency in all phases of duties and responsibilities to be performed.
- Maintain familiarity with the problems which arise in locksmithing work.
- Repair, alter, and install locks, and keys of various types.
- Use equipment, tools, and materials used in locksmith work.
- Diagnose locksmith problems likely to be encountered on the campus of UT Arlington.
- Organize assigned locksmith work, analyze routine and emergency problems, and develop effective work methods.
- Repair locks, padlocks, door locks, and key locks.
- Make and repair keys of various types and operate key machines.
- Set up and reset locks cylinders; rebuild and install locks; lube, repair, and check locks; make parts for locks and change lock combinations by repining cores.
- Requisition needed equipment, materials, and supplies, and see that these are properly safeguarded and recorded.
- Use computers and/or electronic equipment to fulfill job functions.
- Participate in appropriate in-service and workshop programs and attend any required meetings.
- Other functions as assigned.
