Job Summary
The Director of Development will secure private and voluntary support from alumni and friends for UT Arlington, Libraries and Honors College. Manage a portfolio to identify, qualify, and cultivate potential major gift donors. Solicit constituents in collaboration with academic leadership and ensure proper recognition and stewardship. Collaborate with colleagues in Development and Alumni Relations and within the Libraries and Honors College to develop and advance fundraising strategies.
Minimum Qualifications

Manage a portfolio to identify, qualify, and cultivate potential major gift donors. Solicit constituents in collaboration with academic leadership and ensure proper recognition and stewardship. Collaborate with colleagues in Development and Alumni Relations and within the Libraries and Honors College to develop and advance fundraising strategies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Five (5) years of experience in major gift fundraising and with a solid track record of securing major gifts, or related and transferable experience from corporate, community or philanthropic organizations.
- Seven (7) or more years of experience in major gift fundraising with a proven track record of success securing gifts at the six-figure level and higher.
- Experience managing volunteers.
- Experience at an institution of higher education.
- Experience fundraising for a College or other academic unit.
- Experience with capital campaigns.
- Experience using Blackbaud (Raiser’s Edge NXT ), or other Advancement databases.
- Responsible for the management of 80-100 potential or actual donors.
- Make personal contact, including in-person visits, with a portfolio of individuals and, when appropriate, corporate representatives and foundation officers to build relationships and secure and steward major gifts for the Libraries and Honors College in coordination with the Deans of the Libraries and Honors College.
- Serve as an integral team member for the Libraries and Honors College and work closely with the leadership, faculty, librarians, and staff in the Libraries and Honors College to develop and advance fundraising strategies.
- Participate in strategic engagement opportunities for the Honors College and UTA Libraries.
- Work closely with the Executive Director for Unit Development and Deans of the Honors College and Libraries to complete fundraising projects related to the Libraries and Honors College and other special constituencies as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in Development and Alumni Relations.
- Assist in the oversight of volunteer management for the Honors College and the Libraries, including an advisory board or committees, and participate in volunteer leadership activities that engage and cultivate relationships toward philanthropic giving.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
