The USD Sanford School of Medicine (SSOM) (www.usd.edu/med) seeks candidates for an Assistant Dean of Medical Student Education. SSOM is a community-based medical school with a tradition of excellence and is highly ranked in family and rural medicine. The Assistant Dean will collaborate with the Pillar directors and clinical faculty to plan and design new instructional strategies using active learning, simulation, and other methodologies; developing and implementing curriculum in emerging areas required to maintain accreditation and meet the educational objectives of the school. This position will represent the institution and its innovative curriculum at the national level.

- An M.D./D.O. with current SD licensure or ability to obtain one and appropriate certification for field of specialty.
- Leadership experience in a medical school or similar environment.
- Experience in student services in an academic environment is preferable.
