Duties include vehicular and foot patrol of University property, enforcement of criminal and traffic laws, protection of people and property, investigation of crimes, completion of police reports, testimony in court, and assistance to other law enforcement agencies. Variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field (such as political science, psychology or government studies), PA Municipal Police Officers Education & Training Commission Act 120 Certification, valid PA driver’s license and safe driving record. Two years’ experience in a related field is preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary. Essential Functions Responsibilities include ensuring public safety in a multi-cultural environment in the third largest police department in Allegheny county.
