Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field (such as political science, psychology or government studies), PA Municipal Police Officers Education & Training Commission Act 120 Certification, valid PA driver’s license and safe driving record. Knowledge and successful completion of Firearms training and qualification. CPR and first aid certification. Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary. Proficiency in Word, Excel spreadsheets and Outlook required. Ability to interact with diverse populations.

Essential Functions Responsibilities include ensuring public safety in a multi-cultural environment in the third largest police department in Allegheny county. Police Officer duties include vehicular and foot patrol of University property, enforcement of criminal and traffic laws; protection of persons and property; investigation of crimes; completion of police reports; testimony in court; and assistance to other law enforcement agencies.
Physical Effort Physical testing involving running, jumping, pushups, and sit-ups. Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
