The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a GIS Technician who will gather, analyze, produce, and maintain geographic data to support Technical Services. The incumbent will prepare and interpret presentation quality maps.
The ideal candidate will possess an extensive working knowledge of the ESRI ArcGIS 10.x Desktop software suite and general GIS principles and concepts. The candidate will visit sites to obtain additional data, measurements, and/or photographs. The candidate must excel in handling multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines with high-quality work. The candidate will work in conjunction with CAD drafters and designers. Miscellaneous office work will also be part of the job responsibilities.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in mapping or GIS analysis required. Bachelor's degree in GIS or related field required. Demonstrated related experience may be substituted for preferred education. AutoCAD experience a plus. GISP Certification a plus.
