Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
Campus Enterprises is a portfolio of self-supporting auxiliary operations and strategic service units that support the academic, research, and community service mission and student experience of UNCG. Units include, but are not limited to, Dining Services, Bookstore, ID Center, Parking Operations and Campus Access Management, Vending, Postal Services, Real Estate, Sustainability, and other auxiliary and enterprise operations. Campus Enterprises comprises over 350 full-time and contracted services staff and has an annual operating budget of approximately $31 million across over 30 distinct funds.
Position Summary
The Director of Finance and Resource Management serves as the senior financial leader for Campus Enterprises and is responsible for comprehensive financial stewardship, resource management, and strategic financial planning across all Campus Enterprises operations. This position provides leadership over budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, human resources, process improvement, and long-term financial modeling for a complex portfolio of auxiliary, fee-supported, and trust-funded operations. The Director partners closely with Campus Enterprises leadership, University Budget and Controller offices, Human Resources, and external partners to ensure sound fiscal management, regulatory compliance, and alignment with UNCG and UNC System policies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field with 3 years of financial experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience.
- Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, and accounting in a complex organization.
- Experience with financial analysis, forecasting, and development of budgets.
Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education, auxiliary services, or public-sector finance.
- Supervisory or management experience leading a small team.
- Knowledge of UNC System, State of North Carolina financial policies, and enterprise financial systems.
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
