Position Summary / Career Interest

The HRM Cardiology Technician II plays a vital role in the coordination and delivery of specialized cardiac diagnostic services. This position is responsible for managing and supporting patients undergoing 12-lead electrocardiograms (ECGs), ambulatory cardiac monitoring, and those with implantable cardiac devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators. The technician ensures high-quality patient care by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, maintaining accurate documentation, and adhering to clinical protocols and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of relevant experience in a cardiology or cardiac diagnostics setting, demonstrating proficiency in ECG interpretation and cardiac telemetry. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities And Essential Job Functions

  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
  • Prioritize patient phone calls
  • Assist patients with troubleshooting cardiac devices
  • Performs all duties and interactions with patients and staff in a way that demonstrates professionalism and leadership.
  • Competently provides patient teaching and provides additional training/resources as needed (i.e. Remote Monitoring, Cardiac Monitoring)
  • Ensure appropriate documentation uploaded to patient record from vendor site / data aggregator
  • Assists in identifying and contacting patients in the event of a cardiac device/lead recall or advisory
  • Assists in remote monitoring / cardiac monitoring scheduling, enrollment and education
  • Performs audit of MUSE and/ or Murj to ensure compliance with protocols.
  • Responsible for accurately preparing and organizing clinical documentation required for billing cardiac diagnostic services, including ECGs, cardiac monitoring, and implantable device evaluations.
  • Ensures all relevant patient records, procedure details, and provider notes are complete, compliant with billing regulations, and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with clinical staff and revenue cycle teams to resolve discrepancies, support coding accuracy, and facilitate efficient reimbursement processes.
  • Collaborates with other health care providers to assist in the adjustment of plan of care and implement changes as needed.
  • Knowledge and understanding of proper billing and reimbursement as it applies to ambulatory monitoring, ECGs, and cardiac implantable devices.
  • Performs preliminary interpretation of ECGs, cardiac monitors, and/ or implantable loop recorders.
  • Accurately identifies arrhythmias, conduction abnormalities, and device-related events, ensuring timely communication of clinically significant findings to the care team.
  • Maintains proficiency in rhythm recognition and documentation standards, supports clinical decision-making, and contributes to the ongoing evaluation and management of patients with cardiac conditions.
  • Demonstrates population-specific competencies (e.g. age specific, cultural sensitivity, patient centered communication) in performance of role.
  • Precise oral and written presentation skills needed to clearly convey information to patients, other medical personnel and provide feedback to vendors.

Required Education And Experience

  • High School Graduate
  • 2 or more years of cardiac experience

Preferred Education And Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in science related field

Required Licensure And Certification

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation to various outreach clinics
