The University of Kansas Health System (TUKHS) and the Department of Surgery at the University of Kansas Medical Center are seeking a board-eligible/board-certified academic surgeon. This is a full-time faculty position and requires fellowship training and an interest in General and Acute Care Surgery. The Division offers a dynamic, high-volume clinical environment supported by the region’s longest-standing American College of Surgeons Verified Level I Trauma Center and the only ACS Verified Center for Emergency General Surgery, with approximately 2,800 trauma admissions and nearly 2,600 emergency general surgery patient encounters annually. Applicants will be expected to collaborate across disciplines to advance innovative research initiatives, drive scholarly productivity, and contribute regularly to peer-reviewed publications and presentations. Furthermore, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the education of medical students and the mentorship of General Surgery residents across inpatient, outpatient, and operative settings. A genuine passion for teaching, hands-on curriculum development, quality improvement, and fostering the next generation of academic surgeons is highly desired.
